Outpost: Rise of the Spetsnaz is a British horror film directed by Kieran Parker and released in 2013. The film is the third installment of the Outpost film series, preceded by Outpost (2008) and Outpost: Black Sun (2012).
The story takes place during World War II and follows a group of Russian soldiers who are sent on a secret mission to infiltrate a Nazi facility where they discover experiments being conducted on soldiers who have been turned into super-powered zombies. The experiments were being conducted by a mad scientist named Klausener, who managed to create the zombies through a secret chemical formula.
As the soldiers try to destroy the facility, they are ambushed by the zombies. However, they manage to capture one of the zombies, who is later revealed to be a Spetsnaz soldier named Dolokhov. Dolokhov is then brainwashed by the Nazis and used as a pawn to attack the Russians.
Years later, in the present day, a group of Spetsnaz soldiers are sent to the same facility to investigate reports of Nazi activity. They discover that the facility is still active and that Dolokhov is still alive. The Spetsnaz soldiers are forced to fight against the Nazi zombies in a brutal and bloody battle to the death.
The film was criticized for its poor acting, weak script, and lack of scares. However, fans of the Outpost series praised the film for its action and gore. Despite this, Outpost: Rise of the Spetsnaz failed to gain a wide audience and remains one of the lesser-known horror films of the decade.
