In the movie Out of Scale, Donald has a passion for trains and has built a ride-on sized train layout in his backyard. However, there is a large tree located on the train track, which is causing problems for the train to run smoothly. Donald decides to move the tree out of the way while Chip 'n Dale, the mischievous chipmunks who live in the tree, are away gathering acorns.
When Chip 'n Dale return, they are surprised to see their tree has been moved. They become angry and seek revenge on Donald. In retaliation, they start messing around with his train set, causing it to derail and malfunction.
Donald, oblivious to the cause of the problems with his train set, becomes increasingly frustrated and tries to fix the issues. However, each time he fixes one problem, another appears due to Chip 'n Dale's meddling.
Eventually, Donald realizes that the chipmunks are behind the chaos and attempts to make peace with them by building a model house that is just the right size for Chip 'n Dale. The chipmunks are pleased with the new house and forgive Donald, and all return to their respective homes happy and satisfied.
The movie ends with Donald happily watching his train go around the track with Chip 'n Dale enjoying their new home nearby.
