Operation Finale is a historical drama based on the true events of the Israeli mission to capture Adolf Eichmann, which took place in the early 1960s. Eichmann was one of the key figures responsible for the planning and execution of the Holocaust during World War II, and had managed to escape Europe and find refuge in Argentina after the war.
The film follows a team of Israeli secret agents, led by Peter Malkin (played by Oscar Isaac), as they are sent to Argentina to capture Eichmann (played by Ben Kingsley) and bring him back to Israel to stand trial for his crimes. The team are able to track down Eichmann, who is living under a false identity and unaware of their presence.
The team then begins a cat-and-mouse game with Eichmann, trying to gain his trust and coax him into agreeing to come with them voluntarily. This involves a series of tense and gripping interrogations, as well as emotional moments with Eichmann's family and the Mossad agents themselves.
Eventually, the team are able to successfully capture Eichmann and bring him back to Israel, where he is put on trial and eventually found guilty. The film explores the moral and ethical implications of hunting down a war criminal, as well as the personal toll it takes on the agents involved in the mission.
