Boog is a grizzly bear who lives in a small mountain town with his handler, a park ranger named Beth. He spends his days performing tricks for tourists and living a comfortable life in captivity. However, his world is turned upside down when Elliot, a mule deer, accidentally gets him into trouble and the two end up stranded in the woods just three days before hunting season begins.
Boog and Elliot are initially at odds with each other, but they soon realize that they need each other to survive in the wild. Elliot teaches Boog important survival skills such as finding food and avoiding predators, and in return, Boog protects Elliot from danger.
As they try to find their way back to civilization, Boog and Elliot encounter a variety of other forest animals, including squirrels, skunks, and porcupines. Despite their differences, they eventually band together to form a makeshift army to fight against the hunters who threaten their way of life.
Throughout the movie, Boog and Elliot form a close friendship and learn valuable lessons about teamwork and acceptance. The film is filled with humor and action, making it a fun family movie for all ages.
