Onus is a horror thriller directed by George Clarke and released in 2016. The movie follows Anna, a trainee nurse who agrees to accompany her girlfriend Livvy to her wealthy family's estate in Northern Ireland. Anna is hesitant to visit the family, as Livvy has never spoken about them and seems uneasy about the trip.

Upon their arrival, Anna begins to notice that something is off about the family and the estate. The family members behave strangely, and Livvy's father, Fionn, seems to have an unhealthy interest in Anna. Livvy's mother, Maureen, welcomes Anna warmly and tells her about an ancient tradition that involves a sacrifice to the goddess Morrigan.

As the night wears on, Anna realizes that she has been unknowingly brought to the estate as a sacrifice. She tries to escape but is trapped by the family and forced to participate in the ritual. However, Anna fights back and manages to turn the tables on her captors.

Onus is a tense and disturbing movie that explores the themes of family secrets, ancient rituals, and sacrifice. The film's claustrophobic atmosphere, along with strong performances by the cast, makes it a must-watch for horror fans.
