Danny Muldoon is a 38-year-old policeman, who still lives at home with his mother Rose. She is a controlling and demanding woman who makes it difficult for Danny to have a life outside of her home. Despite his love for his mother, Danny yearns for a romantic relationship and to start his own family.
One day, Danny meets Theresa Luna, a beautiful woman who works at her father's funeral home. They quickly fall in love and begin a passionate relationship, but their happiness is threatened by the disapproval of Rose.
