Only God Forgives is a 2013 crime thriller film directed by Nicolas Winding Refn. The film stars Ryan Gosling as Julian, a drug smuggler in Bangkok, Thailand, who runs a Thai boxing club as a front for his illegal activities. Julian's brother Billy is killed after raping and murdering a 16-year-old girl, and their mother Crystal travels to Bangkok and orders Julian to find and kill the person responsible for Billy's death.

Julian initially refuses to carry out the task, but when his mother threatens to have him killed if he fails, he sets out to find the killer. He is aided by his girlfriend Mai and his contact in the police department, Chang, who is known as the "Angel of Vengeance" for his violent tactics. Chang also happens to be the one who killed Billy, but Julian does not know this.

As Julian investigates, he becomes involved in a violent and twisted world of sex, drugs, and revenge. He is eventually led to a brothel, where he confronts the killer, who turns out to be the father of the murdered girl seeking revenge for his daughter's death. Julian initially attempts to reason with the man, but when that fails, a brutal fight ensues, ultimately resulting in Julian's death.

Only God Forgives has been praised by some for its stunning visuals, atmospheric score, and intense performances, but criticized by others for its slow pace and excessive violence. Nonetheless, it remains a cult favorite among fans of Refn's work.
