One Man Band is a short animated film produced by Pixar Animation Studios. The film is directed by Andrew Jimenez and Mark Andrews and premiered at the 2005 Venice Film Festival. The film features two street performers who are vying for a coin that a little girl, Tippy, has to make a wish. The street performers are both one-man bands who compete against each other in a musical duel to win the coin in Tippy's possession.
The first performer is a bustling, full-fledged ensemble of instruments played by a one-man-band named Bass. The second performer is a quiet but skillful accordionist named Treble. Both performers try their best to win Tippy over and persuade her to choose them by playing their instruments and performing tricks. With each performance, the two one-man-bands intensify their musical duel to win the coin.
As Tippy stands in the middle of the dueling performers, she becomes overwhelmed and can't seem to make up her mind. In the end, Tippy decides that neither performer deserves the coin and throws it back into the fountain. The irritated street performers continue to argue and fight over the coin, and Tippy walks away without making a wish.
In the closing credits of the film, Tippy is seen making a wish at the same fountain. The wish leads to a surprise reveal and a happy ending for everyone. One Man Band is a charming and delightful animated film that captures the imagination with its lively music and colorful visuals.
