After losing her job and desperate for cash, Stephanie Plum (played by Katherine Heigl), turns to her cousin, Vinnie (played by Patrick Fischler), who works as a bail bondsman. Vinnie offers Stephanie a job as a bounty hunter and assigns her to track down Joe Morelli (played by Jason O'Mara), a former cop who is now on the run for murder and who also broke Stephanie's heart years before.
Despite her lack of experience, Stephanie gets help from her friend, Lula (played by Sherri Shepherd), who used to be a prostitute, and gets advice from Ranger (played by Daniel Sunjata), a highly skilled bounty hunter. As Stephanie gets closer to catching Morelli, she starts to uncover a conspiracy involving corrupt cops, drug dealers, and Morelli's involvement in the murder.
As Stephanie's investigation intensifies, she finds herself in dangerous situations and is forced to use her wits and newfound skills to stay alive. Along the way, Stephanie also reconnects with Morelli and realizes that her feelings for him may not have gone away after all.
One for the Money is a fast-paced action-comedy that combines romance, suspense, and humor. It is based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Janet Evanovich and was released in 2012.
