Once Upon a Prince is a Hallmark Channel movie adapted from the novel of the same name by Rachel Hauck. The film follows the story of Susanna Truitt, a young woman who works at her parents' garden store in Georgia. One day, while struggling to move a large item, she is helped by the handsome and kind Nate. Despite their initial awkwardness, they quickly hit it off and enjoy spending time together.
However, their budding romance is interrupted when a photo of them together is leaked to the press. This causes a media frenzy, with reporters and paparazzi descending on the small town to get the scoop on the couple. Susanna is bewildered by all the attention and has no idea why Nate is suddenly acting distant towards her. She later discovers the surprising reason for his behavior - he is actually Prince Nathaniel of Cambria and is set to be crowned king.
As Nate prepares to return home, Susanna is torn between her feelings for him and the responsibilities she has in Georgia. After thinking it over, she decides to visit Nate in Cambria to support him at his coronation. Once she arrives there, she is thrust into the world of royalty, where she must navigate palace politics, learn the ins and outs of being a royal, and figure out if she and Nate have a future together.
As the coronation approaches, Susanna finds herself drawn to Nate more than ever. Despite the challenges they face as a couple, they ultimately realize that their love can conquer all and they decide to pursue a relationship together. The movie ends with the couple walking hand in hand, ready to face whatever the future holds.
