Omar is a 2013 Palestinian drama film directed and co-written by Hany Abu-Assad. The film tells the story of a young Palestinian man named Omar, played by Adam Bakri, who becomes embroiled in a dangerous love triangle and political conflict when he and his two childhood friends, Tarek and Amjad, decide to become freedom fighters in the West Bank.

As they carry out guerrilla attacks on Israeli soldiers and officials, Omar falls in love with Nadia, Tarek's younger sister, played by Leem Lubany. However, when Omar is arrested and tortured by the Israeli secret service for his involvement in a deadly attack, he is forced to choose between betraying his friends and remaining loyal to his cause.

The film explores themes such as love, betrayal, loyalty, and the complex realities of life under occupation in Palestine. It received critical acclaim and won the Un Certain Regard Jury Prize at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, as well as being nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 2014 Academy Awards.

Omar is considered a milestone for Palestinian cinema, as it was the first film produced entirely within Palestine and financed independently from foreign sources. It was shot on location in the West Bank, with many of the cast and crew members living under occupation themselves.
