Kira Young is a bestselling author who has been going through a rough time after being associated with the murder of a young woman. Her reputation is in shambles, and she is looking for a way to escape the media's attention. She decides to return to her hometown to start anew.
Weston Wade is Kira's former high school sweetheart, and the two haven't seen each other since they graduated. They meet randomly at a local coffee shop, and sparks fly. Weston, who is still in love with Kira, convinces her to go on a date with him. The two end up spending the night together.
Kira wakes up the next morning with a splitting headache and no memory of the night before. Weston seems to be a little too eager to please her and to know every detail about her life. At first, Kira is flattered, but soon she realizes that Weston's obsession with her is taking a dark turn.
Weston begins to stalk Kira and becomes increasingly possessive. He shows up at her house uninvited and leaves gifts on her porch, even though Kira has made it clear that she wants nothing to do with him. Weston's behavior becomes more and more erratic, and Kira becomes concerned for her safety.
