Old Boys is a British coming-of-age comedy film that follows a socially awkward student named Amberson, who attends an all-boys boarding school in England in the 1980s. Amberson has always had a crush on a French girl named Agnes, who is the daughter of the visiting language teacher.
Meanwhile, a handsome but intellectually challenged jock named Winchester arrives at the school and quickly becomes the new school hero. Winchester also falls for Agnes, but he lacks the wit and sophistication to win her over. Amberson, despite initially despising Winchester, decides to help him win Agnes' heart by writing love letters for him.
As the plan progresses, Amberson finds himself falling for Agnes as well, leading to a complex love triangle. The film is a witty and whimsical take on the classic Cyrano de Bergerac story, set against the backdrop of the quintessentially English boarding school experience. The movie stars Alex Lawther as Amberson, Jonah Hauer-King as Winchester, and Pauline Étienne as Agnes.
