Bobby's Swedish Hockey Awakening

Drama  N/A

Odd Man Rush is a sports comedy-drama film directed by Doug Dearth and based on the memoir of Bill Keenan, a former Harvard University ice hockey player. The movie follows the story of Bobby from a small-town begining in Massachusetts, who plays hockey all the way from high school to university. However, his dream of playing in the NHL is dashed after he gets an offer to play professional ice hockey in Sweden's minor leagues.

When Bobby arrives in Sweden, he finds himself in a new environment where he struggles with the culture shock. He quickly befriends his teammates and meets a girl named Saga, who works at the local market. However, Bobby soon realizes that succeeding in Sweden is not like playing in the Ivy League, and there is a steep learning curve he needs to overcome.

As Bobby begins to adjust to his new surroundings and finds himself performing well on the ice, he is forced to confront the harsh reality of his NHL dream and his place in the world of professional hockey. The hockey gods tell the story of his life, as seen through the eyes of his father and grandfather and their fantasy ice hockey leagues.

Odd Man Rush is a heartwarming story of friendship and the pursuit of dreams, and how sometimes, success can come from unexpected places. The movie stars Jack Mulhern, Dylan Playfair, and Caspar Phillipson in lead roles.
