Ocean's Eleven is a 2001 heist film directed by Steven Soderbergh and starring an ensemble cast including George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Julia Roberts, and Andy Garcia. The movie follows Danny Ocean, a recently paroled ex-con who hatches a plan to rob three major casinos on the Las Vegas strip simultaneously.
To pull off this seemingly impossible heist, Danny recruits a team of eleven skilled criminals each with their own area of expertise. This group includes Rusty Ryan (Pitt), a skilled con artist and Danny's close friend; Linus Caldwell (Damon), a pickpocket looking to prove himself; and Saul Bloom (Carl Reiner), an aging conman who specializes in impersonating other people.
The biggest challenge for the group is robbing the Bellagio, the most secure casino in Las Vegas. They plan to do this by taking advantage of a series of security flaws, which involves shutting down the power in the casino and manipulating the surveillance system to avoid detection.
Adding to the tension, Danny's ex-wife Tess (Roberts) is now in a relationship with Terry Benedict (Garcia), the ruthless owner of the three casinos they plan to rob. This puts Tess in danger and adds a personal edge to the heist.
The film received critical acclaim for its stylish direction, witty script, and excellent performances from the cast. It was a box office success and spawned two sequels, Ocean's Twelve and Ocean's Thirteen.
