Nowhere to Go is a 1958 British crime drama film directed by Seth Holt, based on the novel "A Start in Life" by prolific author John le Carré. The film stars George Nader as Paul Gregory, a professional thief who is released from prison with the help of a young woman named Bridget Howard, played by Maggie Smith in her film debut.

Bridget is the niece of a wealthy criminal who wants to team up with Paul to find out where he has hidden a large sum of stolen money. Bridget and Paul develop a complicated relationship as they travel across London attempting to evade the police and other criminals who are after them.

As they search for the stolen money, Paul becomes increasingly paranoid and begins to suspect that Bridget is deceiving him. The two lovers become embroiled in a series of dangerous situations, including shootouts, car chases and confrontations with rival criminal gangs.

Despite their growing distrust of each other, Paul and Bridget continue their search for the money until they eventually discover its whereabouts. In the climactic scene, Paul must decide whether to keep the money for himself or give it to Bridget as they attempt to escape the city and start a new life together.

Overall, Nowhere to Go is a tense and engaging British film noir that features strong performances from its lead actors and a gripping story of crime, love and betrayal.
