Nick Beame is a successful advertising executive living what appears to be a perfect life with his beautiful wife. However, one day everything falls apart when he discovers that his wife is having an affair with his boss. Devastated and angry, Nick confronts his boss, who promptly fires him and kicks him out of the building.
On his way back home, Nick encounters a hapless carjacker named T. Paul, who attempts to steal his car at gunpoint. However, Nick is in such a bad mood that he invites T. Paul to take a ride with him instead. T. Paul is surprised but agrees, and the two men quickly strike up an odd friendship.
Nick and T. Paul set out on a wild journey through the city, during which Nick decides that he has nothing left to lose and comes up with a scheme for revenge against his boss. With T. Paul's help, Nick plans to rob his boss's mansion and take everything he can get his hands on.
Despite their lack of experience, Nick and T. Paul manage to pull off the heist successfully. However, things take a turn for the worse when they discover that the mansion was also targeted by a gang of professional criminals, who are now after them. Nick and T. Paul must use all their wits and resources to outsmart the gang and escape with their lives.
Over the course of their adventure, Nick and T. Paul come to realize that they are more alike than they ever imagined. Both are seeking a sense of purpose and direction in their lives, and both have been let down by society in one way or another. Together, they learn to trust one another and to find hope in the midst of chaos.
