The protagonist of the movie is John, whose world crumbles after the sudden death of his wife. He is left to look after his daughter, who is severely non-verbal autistic. John becomes obsessed with finding a treatment for his daughter's condition, and in his quest, he comes across an experimental therapy that claims to help autistic children communicate better.

John decides to give it a try and rents an Airbnb with a mysterious history. As they settle in, strange occurrences begin to happen, and the story takes a chilling turn. His daughter starts showing psychic abilities, which amplify the presence of the ghosts haunting the Airbnb.
