Gon (played by Jang Dong-gun) is a skilled hitman who has been working for the Chinese triad for several years. On his latest mission, he mistakenly kills an innocent young girl, which leaves him wracked with guilt and remorse. He decides he no longer wants to be a hitman and tries to quit the job, but his boss (played by Brian Tee) won't let him go until he completes one more job.
The next job takes Gon back to his home country of South Korea, where he is tasked with killing the mother of a young girl who is a potential witness to a murder committed by the triad. While on the mission, Gon discovers that the girl is actually his long-lost daughter, whom he thought had died along with his wife in a car accident years ago.
Determined to save his daughter and make amends for his past mistakes, Gon teams up with his former partner, a tough and experienced cop named Chaoz (played by Kim Min-hee), who helps him navigate the dangerous underworld of Korean organized crime. Together, they must protect the young girl and fight off the triad who is determined to eliminate her as a witness.
No Tears for the Dead is a thrilling action-packed movie that explores themes of redemption, morality, and familial love. Jang's performance as Gon is poignant and nuanced, and the movie's slick direction and stunning cinematography make it a must-see for fans of the action genre.
