Nightmare Beach

Thriller,Horror  Italy

Nightmare Beach, also known as Welcome to Spring Break, was released in 1989.
The plot revolves around biker Edward "Diablo" Santer who is executed for a murder he claims he did not commit. Soon after his execution, a series of murders occur in the beach town of Southport during Spring Break, with victims being electrocuted. This leads some to believe that Diablo's curse is responsible for the killings.
The town's officials, including the mayor, police chief, and Reverend Bates, are more concerned with keeping the murders under wraps to not ruin the Spring Break celebrations, rather than finding the killer. However, a group of young college students starts investigating the murders and is soon targeted by the killer.
As the investigation progresses, suspects include the town's alcoholic doctor, the fascist police chief, and Reverend Bates, whose promiscuous daughter seems to be involved with all the murdered victims. In the film's climax, the killer is revealed, and a tense chase scene follows, ending with a surprising twist.
Nightmare Beach was directed by Umberto Lenzi and starred Nicolas De Toth, Sarah Buxton, and John Saxon. It received mixed reviews upon release, but has since gained a cult following for its blend of slasher horror and beach party film tropes.
