Night Train to Munich is a 1940 British spy thriller film directed by Carol Reed and starring Margaret Lockwood and Rex Harrison. The film is set in the period leading up to the outbreak of World War II and tells the story of a Czech inventor, Dr Bomasch, who is forced to flee to England when the Nazis invade Czechoslovakia.

Bomasch is working on a new type of armour-plating that could help the Allies in the war effort, so the Nazis are desperate to get their hands on him. They manage to capture him and his daughter, Anna, and take them back to Berlin. Anna, desperate to escape, teams up with a British secret service agent named Gus Bennet, who is posing as a senior German army officer.

Bennet comes up with a plan to rescue Bomasch and Anna, but he needs Anna's help to make it work. He convinces her that they are on the same side and starts to woo her, but she is initially distrustful of him. Eventually, Anna agrees to help Bennet, and they embark on a daring mission to rescue Bomasch.

The film features some exciting set pieces, including a chase through the streets of Munich and a tense escape from a concentration camp. Harrison and Lockwood are excellent in the lead roles, and the film is notable for its blend of tense action and dry wit. Night Train to Munich is an enjoyable and suspenseful thriller that offers a unique take on the spy genre.
