Night of the Demon is a 1980 horror film directed by James C. Wasson. The film centers around a group of anthropology students who, along with their professor, venture into the woods of Northern California to study the local indigenous tribes. However, their expedition takes a terrifying turn when they encounter a Sasquatch-like creature that begins to stalk and attack them in the night.
The movie opens with a group of hunters tracking the creature, which they call "Old Bob," but they are quickly killed off. Next, we meet Professor Nugent, who is teaching a class on the legends of Bigfoot and decides to take his students on a field trip to the same area where the hunters were killed.
As the group begins their research, they come across several disturbing incidents, including ominous warnings from the locals and the discovery of a mutilated cow. When they finally encounter the creature itself, it becomes apparent that they are dealing with a savage, intelligent predator that will stop at nothing to protect its territory.
As the night wears on, the group is picked off one by one in gruesome fashion, with the remaining survivors forced to fight for their lives against the terrifying monster. Ultimately, the film ends on a cliffhanger, leaving the fate of the surviving characters and the creature itself a mystery.
