The two girls, Regina and Samantha, are sisters who are polar opposites of each other. Regina is tough, streetwise, and independent, while Samantha is more sheltered and naive. They survive the comet's impact by being inside steel-lined rooms, but everyone else around them has turned into dust. As they make their way through the city, they encounter a group of cannibalistic mutants who have also survived the comet's impact but have been transformed into flesh-eating monsters.
Regina and Samantha team up with a friendly truck driver named Hector and together they try to find other survivors. Along the way, they discover that a secret government facility called the "think tank" is responsible for the comet and the mutants. The think tank is planning to experiment on the survivors to create a new civilization and rule the world.
Regina, Samantha, and Hector must fight their way through the mutants to reach the think tank and stop their evil plan. They use their wits and martial arts skills to outsmart the think tank's soldiers and destroy their base. In the end, they successfully save the world from the think tank's tyranny and enjoy some well-deserved retail therapy at the mall. The movie is a fun mix of horror, action, comedy, and 80s nostalgia.
