But when he learns that his favorite exhibits, including Teddy Roosevelt (Robin Williams), Sacagawea (Mizuo Peck), and the miniature cowboy Jedediah (Owen Wilson), are being sent to the archives at the Smithsonian in Washington D.C., he feels compelled to help them.

Once at the archives, Larry discovers that the exhibits have come to life again, just like they did at the Natural History Museum. But this time, they are facing new enemies: the evil pharaoh Kahmunrah (Hank Azaria), Al Capone (Jon Bernthal), and Ivan the Terrible (Christopher Guest), who are on a mission to destroy Larry's friends and take over the world.

With the help of Amelia Earhart (Amy Adams) and his loyal pals, Larry must find a way to stop the villains and save his beloved exhibits before it's too late. Along the way, he also learns important lessons about friendship, courage, and following your dreams.
