New Orleans Uncensored was released in 1955 and starred Arthur Franz as the lead character, a former sailor named Dan Corbett. The film also featured Beverly Garland, Helene Stanton, and Michael Ansara in supporting roles. It was one of several movies produced by Sam Katzman, known for producing low-budget films that often featured B-list actors.

The movie begins with Dan Corbett returning to New Orleans after serving in the Korean War. He takes a job as a longshoreman and soon discovers that the docks are controlled by a ruthless gangster named Augie Cortona (played by Michael Ansara). When Dan's friend and coworker is killed by Augie's henchmen, Dan decides to take matters into his own hands.

Dan approaches the police and convinces them to let him go undercover to gather evidence against Augie and his gang. He quickly becomes immersed in the world of organized crime and gains the trust of Augie and his men. However, as he gets closer to the truth, Dan realizes that his life is in danger.

New Orleans Uncensored was praised for its gritty portrayal of the city's seedy underbelly. It was also notable for featuring extensive location filming, with scenes shot in the French Quarter and on the docks. The film was a modest success at the box office and has since become a cult favorite among fans of film noir and crime thrillers.
