Action,Drama,War  United States of America

Never So Few is a 1959 war film directed by John Sturges and starring Frank Sinatra, Gina Lollobrigida, and Peter Lawford. The film is based on the novel by Tom T. Chamales and tells the story of American soldiers fighting in Burma during World War II.

In the film, Sinatra plays Captain Tom Reynolds, a U.S. military intelligence officer who is sent to Burma to lead a group of Burmese guerillas fighting against the Japanese army. The guerillas are led by General Kachin (played by Richard Johnson), who is skeptical of Captain Reynolds at first but eventually comes to respect him.

As the war rages on, the Americans and their Burmese allies face numerous challenges, including treacherous terrain, difficult supply lines, and a brutal enemy. Along the way, Reynolds falls in love with Carla Vesari (played by Lollobrigida), an Italian nurse working with the guerillas.

Never So Few contains intense action scenes, including a spectacular battle sequence in which the guerillas and the Americans use a mountain pass to ambush a Japanese convoy. The film also explores the relationships between the characters, particularly the bond that develops between Reynolds and General Kachin.

Overall, Never So Few is a thrilling war film that offers a compelling look at an often-overlooked theater of World War II.
