Never Say Never Again is a 1983 spy film directed by Irvin Kershner and starring Sean Connery as James Bond for the seventh and final time. The film is an unofficial James Bond film, as it was not produced by Eon Productions and was made outside the official Bond film series.
The plot centers around Bond being recalled out of retirement to take on the villainous organization SPECTRE once again. This time, SPECTRE's leader, Ernst Stavro Blofeld, is played by Max von Sydow. SPECTRE has stolen two nuclear warheads and threatens to detonate them unless they receive a massive ransom from the governments of the world.
Assisting Bond is a young female American agent, played by Kim Basinger, who is also tasked with recovering the stolen warheads. Bond's love interest in the film is the character Domino, played by French actress Claudine Auger. Domino is Largo's girlfriend, but she becomes disillusioned with the villain's evil plans and helps Bond in his fight against SPECTRE.
The film features many of the staple elements of a James Bond movie, including exotic locales, a bevy of beautiful women, high-tech gadgets, and thrilling action sequences. It also has a memorable soundtrack, including the hit single "Never Say Never Again" sung by Lani Hall.
Despite not being part of the official Bond film series, Never Say Never Again was a box office success, grossing over $160 million worldwide. The film remains a fan favorite and a unique entry in the James Bond franchise.
