Nell is a young woman who has lived in isolation in the woods for her entire life with her mother, who has recently passed away. The small town doctor, Dr. Jerome "Jerry" Lovell, discovers Nell and becomes intrigued by her mysterious background and unique way of speaking.
As Dr. Lovell tries to understand Nell and help her adjust to society, he enlists the help of a psychologist, Dr. Paula Olsen. Together, they try to uncover the secrets of Nell's past and help her navigate the complexities of the modern world.
