The movie follows Ned Kelly (played by Heath Ledger) and his gang as they evade capture and try to clear their names. They rob banks and stagecoach vehicles to fund their efforts to stay hidden and fight back against the corrupt police force led by Constable Fitzpatrick.
As Ned and his gang become more infamous, they gain support from the local community who see them as heroes fighting against injustice. However, the police force escalates their efforts to capture the Kelly Gang, leading to a deadly showdown at Glenrowan.
During the final confrontation, Ned and his gang don homemade suits of armor to protect themselves. The siege of Glenrowan is a bloody and chaotic battle, culminating in Ned being captured and sentenced to death by hanging.
Despite this, Ned Kelly's legacy lives on as a symbol of defiance against authority and standing up for what is right. The film ends with Kelly's famous last words before his execution, declaring "Such is life."
