National Security is a 2003 action comedy film directed by Dennis Dugan. The movie stars Martin Lawrence as Earl Montgomery, a fast-talking, motor-mouthed Los Angeles police officer who is dismissed from the force for accidentally injuring his partner. Steve Zahn plays Hank Rafferty, a hapless security guard who dreams of becoming a cop but fails the entrance exam.
When Earl and Hank cross paths, they clash immediately, with Hank resenting Earl's attitude and Earl seeing Hank as a loser. But when a team of smugglers begins using Hank's employer, National Security, as a front for their operation, the two unlikely heroes must team up to stop them.
As they investigate the case, Earl and Hank encounter a variety of obstacles, including corrupt cops, a ruthless crime boss, and their own personal issues. Despite their differences, the two men gradually learn to work together and develop a begrudging respect for one another.
