National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon 1 is a comedic parody of the action genre and other films of the time. The film follows the investigation of Detective Wes Luger (played by Emilio Estevez) and his new partner Jack Colt (played by Samuel L. Jackson) as they try to solve the murder of Detective Washington (played by Whoopi Goldberg).
As they dig deeper into the case, Luger and Colt uncover a plot by corrupt businessman General Mortars (played by William Shatner) and his henchmen to distribute cocaine-laced cookies to unsuspecting customers via the Wilderness Girls cookie drive. The microfilm containing the recipe for the cocaine cookies was in Detective Washington's possession, which is why she was murdered.
The film features a star-studded cast and numerous cameos, including Tim Curry, Kathy Ireland, Charlie Sheen, Denis Leary, and many more. Loaded Weapon 1 also includes numerous spoofed scenes and references to classic action films, including Lethal Weapon, Die Hard, and Basic Instinct.
