As the construction worker, named Diego, settles into his new community, he finds friendship and acceptance among the ranchers and rodeo performers who live openly as LGBTQ+ individuals. Despite facing discrimination and pushback from some members of the conservative town, Diego is inspired by the resilience and determination of his new friends.
Diego becomes particularly close with a talented young rodeo performer named Maria, who is navigating her own challenges as a queer woman in a traditionally masculine sport. Together, Diego and Maria support each other as they pursue their dreams and push back against societal norms.
As Diego immerses himself in the community, he learns about the rich history and traditions of the queer ranchers and performers who came before him. He discovers a sense of belonging and purpose that he had never experienced before, and begins to embrace his own identity as a queer individual.
