Nappily Ever After is a romantic comedy-drama film based on the 2000 novel of the same name by Trisha R. Thomas. The movie follows the life of Violet Jones (played by Sanaa Lathan), a successful advertising executive who is obsessed with having a perfect life, including her hair.
After a tragic incident at the hair salon, Violet realizes that her life is not as perfect as she thought it was. She breaks up with her long-term boyfriend, Clint (played by Ricky Whittle), who she realizes does not accept her for who she really is. Violet decides to shave her head, which symbolizes a new beginning for her.
She meets Will (played by Lyriq Bent), a soulful barber who helps her embrace her natural beauty and teaches her to live life to the fullest. With Will's help, Violet begins to let go of her perfectionist tendencies and starts to enjoy the simple things in life.
