As the day progresses, Amari tries to push down his feelings of inadequacy and uncertainty about his future while Q tries to provide support and reassurance. However, their plans for an extravagant birthday celebration are derailed by the power outage and subsequent lockdown. With only each other to rely on, the couple begins to reflect on their past and the events that brought them together.
Through a series of flashbacks, the audience is taken on a journey through the ups and downs of their relationship, including the struggles they faced as black gay men in a society that often doesn't accept them. The flashbacks also reveal the deep-seated insecurities and emotional scars that both men carry with them, threatening to tear them apart.
As they navigate the crisis of the lockdown and come to terms with their past, Amari and Q are forced to confront their fears and reassess their priorities. With the help of friends and family, they come to realize that their love for each other is worth fighting for and that their purpose in life is to continue to support and uplift each other in a world that often tries to tear them down.
