Nabbie's Love

Comedy,Romance  Japan

Nanako is a young woman living in Tokyo who returns to her hometown, the remote island of Aguni, to visit her grandmother Nabbie. As she arrives on the ferry, she encounters Nabbie's former lover, a man named Isamu, who has returned to Aguni after a long absence.

Nabbie, who is in her 80s and still sharp-witted, is overjoyed to see Isamu again. However, Nanako is surprised to learn that Nabbie never married Isamu because her family disapproved of him. As she spends more time on the island, Nanako learns about Nabbie's complicated past and the love triangle that once existed between Nabbie, Isamu, and another local man named Kame.

Through flashbacks and conversations with Nabbie and other islanders, Nanako begins to understand the long-standing tensions and conflicts on the island. At the same time, she becomes close to Isamu and starts to question her own feelings for him.

Nabbie's Love is a heartfelt and poignant exploration of love, loss, and the ties that bind us to the people and places we call home. It is a celebration of the beauty and resilience of rural communities and the rich history and traditions that shape our identities.
