Mystery 101: Dead Talk is a 2021 Hallmark movie that follows the story of Amy Winslow (played by Jill Wagner), a professor of English literature at a small town college who is invited to give a TEDTalk-style lecture in Seattle. While there, she meets a tech genius named Jacob who is also a speaker at the event. However, tragedy strikes when Jacob dies suddenly, and Amy believes foul play is involved.
Amy tries to investigate the case, but the local police refuse to let her help. In desperation, she turns to Travis Burke (played by Kristoffer Polaha), a former detective turned true crime podcaster who also happens to be in town for the event. Together, they team up to unravel the mystery behind Jacob's death.
As they investigate, they discover that Jacob was a brilliant but secretive man who had many enemies, including his business partner and a former colleague. Meanwhile, Amy and Travis grow closer as they work together, and they also find themselves in danger as the killer tries to silence them.
