Sing is a young man living in Hong Kong who spends most of his time reading comics and dreaming of becoming a successful and famous person in the city. One day he accidentally becomes involved with a local gang leader named Wai, after stumbling upon one of his operations.
While trying to avoid getting caught by the police, Sing finds himself befriending Wai's adopted son Chun, who is also struggling with his own identity and trying to find his place in the world.
As Sing begins to rise through the ranks of the gang and becomes more successful, he starts to attract the envy and jealousy of Wai. Wai begins to plot against Sing and Chun, realizing that they may pose a threat to his own power and influence within the gang.
Despite Wai's plans, Sing and Chun continue to rise up and achieve success, eventually becoming the leaders of the gang themselves. However, tragedy strikes when Wai's son ends up killing him and confessing to the crime.
In the aftermath of Wai's death, Sing and Chun must navigate their own paths and come to terms with the consequences of their actions. They must also confront their own identities and decide what kind of person they want to be, even in the midst of the violent and dangerous world they find themselves in.
