My Happy Ending tells the story of Juliette Price (played by Andie MacDowell), a renowned actress whose life is turned upside down when she discovers she has a serious medical issue. In order to seek treatment, Juliette checks into a small hospital under a false name, hoping to maintain her anonymity.
While there, she meets three very different women, each grappling with their own personal issues. There's the aging rocker, played by Rosie Perez, who is grappling with the decline of her music career, as well as the aches and pains of getting older. Then there's the young mother, played by Lina Esco, who is struggling to balance her role as a caregiver to her child with her own desires and ambitions. Finally, there's the forever single retired schoolteacher, played by Carol Kane, who has resigned herself to a life of spinsterhood.
Despite their vastly different backgrounds, the four women quickly form a bond, united by a shared sense of humor and resilience in the face of adversity. As Juliette undergoes treatment for her medical condition, the women help her rediscover her own strength and passion, encouraging her to take on the most challenging role of her life - that of herself.
