My Father and My Son is a 2005 Turkish drama film, directed by Çağan Irmak. The film tells the story of a man named Memo who lives in Istanbul with his wife and son. During a military coup, Memo's wife dies while giving birth to his son, Ova. Devastated by the loss, Memo can't cope with the situation and leaves Ova with his father, Hüseyin.
Memo moves to New York, where he becomes a successful photographer. He keeps in touch with Hüseyin and Ova, but he never returns to Turkey to see them. Years later, when Memo finds out that he has only a few months to live, he decides to come back to Istanbul to see his son and repair his relationship with his father.
