The movie centers around Ashley, a high-school senior who is worried about her widowed mother, Tracy, being lonely when she leaves for college. In an attempt to find a suitable partner for her mom, Ashley creates an online dating profile and meets Jared, a charming and successful businessman.
Tracy and Jared hit it off, and Tracy invites Jared to move in with her.
