The movie follows Samantha and Alex as they return to Maple Falls, Wyoming for the holidays. Samantha is excited to share her hometown with her boyfriend, but she soon realizes that Alex is not who he seems to be. He is actually a prince from the small country of Madelvia, and he is next in line for the throne.
As Samantha tries to come to terms with Alex's true identity, she finds herself drawn into the world of royalty. She is dazzled by the opulence and glamour of Madelvia, but she also realizes that there are pressures and expectations that come with being a prince's girlfriend.
Samantha's dilemma is further complicated when she receives an offer for her dream job in Manhattan. She must choose between her career and her love for Alex, who wants her to stay with him in Madelvia and become his princess.
