The movie is a remake of the 1981 Canadian film of the same name. It follows Tom Hanniger, played by Jensen Ackles, returning to his hometown after a decade of staying away. He finds that the town still hasn't recovered from the massacre that happened on Valentine's Day ten years ago. The only ones who seem to have moved on are his former flame Sarah (Jaime King) and her new boyfriend Axel (Kerr Smith), who was Tom's best friend.

As soon as Tom gets back to town, strange events start happening. A heart-shaped candy box with a human heart inside is left for him, and he starts getting threatening messages from someone who claims to be Harry Warden. The townspeople are preparing for a Valentine's Day dance, but Tom is unsure whether it's safe to go.

Soon enough, the killings begin again, and it becomes apparent that someone is copying Harry Warden's murders. The authorities start investigating, and Tom becomes the primary suspect. He teams up with Sarah to try and solve the mystery and clear his name. As they dig deeper, they uncover a web of lies and secrets that lead them to the identity of the killer.

As they race against time, they must also survive the horrors that await them in the dark tunnels under the town. The movie is a classic slasher flick with plenty of gore, jump scares, and twists that keep the audience engaged till the end. It's a perfect movie to watch on Valentine's Day, especially if you're looking for something other than rom-coms.
