Mutant Python is a horror movie set in a secluded mountain village in Northern Fujian. The village is known for its unique snake culture, which dates back to the Qin and Han dynasties. The villagers believe in snakes as the god of ancestors and worship them as totems.
The story follows Dong Wenhui and Qian Xiuchen, who are set to get married. On their wedding day, the father of the groom is tragically swallowed by a python. In a fit of rage, Dong Wenlin throws the snake corpse on the altar, which incurs the wrath of the python king.
The python king, who is revered by the villagers, starts to wreak havoc in the village. People go missing, and there is a general sense of panic and fear among the villagers. The only hope of stopping the python king is a group of outsiders who visit the village.
The outsiders, who are scientists, discover that the python king has mutated and is more powerful than any normal python. They advise the villagers to evacuate, but the villagers, who are deeply rooted in their snake culture, refuse to leave.
The movie is centered around the clash between the outsiders and the villagers, as they try to stop the python king from destroying the village.
