Mutant Chronicles is a science fiction action film set in the distant future where Earth has been depleted of its natural resources due to mankind's overuse. Corporations compete for the remaining resources and battle for control.
One such battle results in the awakening of an ancient machine known as the Mutant Machine. The machine was created by a race of aliens thousands of years ago to help them conquer other planets. However, the machine eventually turned on its creators and was defeated, only to be sealed away, dormant for centuries.
When the Mutant Machine is accidentally activated, it begins to unleash deadly mutants and advanced robotic drones on the Earth. The order responsible for keeping the machine sealed away for so long must now lead a team of soldiers to destroy it once and for all.
The team is composed of soldiers from different nations, including Europe, America, Australia, and China. They are led by Major Mitch Hunter, played by Thomas Jane, who has a personal vendetta against the corporations responsible for the Earth's downfall.
The team faces incredible odds as they fight their way through mutant-infested cities and battle advanced combat robots. The Mutant Machine proves to be a powerful foe, able to regenerate itself and control the mutants and robots it has created.
Despite the odds, the team manages to destroy the Mutant Machine, thereby saving the Earth from destruction. However, the victory comes at a great cost, as many of the team members are lost in the battle.
In the end, the survivors return to a world that is still struggling to survive in the aftermath of the corporations' greed, but they at least have the knowledge that they saved the world from an ancient and deadly threat.
