Music is a musical drama film directed and co-written by singer-songwriter Sia. The movie revolves around the story of Zu, who is a recovering drug addict and a free-spirited woman who is estranged from her family. One day, she becomes the sole caregiver of her half-sister, Music, who is on the autism spectrum.

Music had spent most of her life with her grandmother, who had created a beautiful world order that revolved around music, dance, and routine. After her grandmother's death, Music is left alone and confused, trying to navigate the world on her own. Zu struggles to understand Music's perspective and initially finds it challenging to take care of her.

As the two women start to bond, Zu slowly learns to appreciate Music's unique viewpoint on life. They both begin to explore the world together and develop a deep bond of trust and love. Music's passion for music and dance becomes a way for both of them to connect and express themselves.

The film features Maddie Ziegler as Music, Kate Hudson as Zu, and Leslie Odom Jr. as Ebo, a kind-hearted neighbor who helps Zu in taking care of Music. Despite some controversy surrounding the casting of a neurotypical actor in the role of an autistic person, the film delivers a powerful message about the importance of understanding, acceptance, and love. The movie's original soundtrack features several songs written and performed by Sia, making the music a significant element of the film.
