In Murder 101: New Age, Jonathan Maxwell, a criminology professor and amateur detective, is invited to a new age retreat by his friend, a yoga instructor named Suzie. The retreat is led by a charismatic guru named Dr. Bhaskara, who promises to help the participants achieve enlightenment and spiritual transformation.
However, during one of the meditation sessions, Dr. Bhaskara is found dead in a locked room, surrounded by his followers who were in a deep trance. Jonathan is called upon to investigate the murder, as the local police are unable to make sense of the evidence.
As Jonathan delves deeper into the case, he uncovers a web of secrets and lies among the attendees of the retreat. He discovers that many of them had a motive to kill Dr. Bhaskara, who had been manipulating and exploiting them for his own gain.
With the help of Suzie and a local detective, Jonathan races against time to solve the case before the killer strikes again. He must use all his skills and knowledge to unravel the mystery of the locked room murder, and uncover the truth about the new age retreat and its enigmatic leader.
