Action,Comedy,Music,Family,Adventure  United States of America

Muppet Treasure Island is a 1996 adventure comedy film directed by Brian Henson, son of the late Jim Henson who created the Muppets. The film stars Tim Curry as the villainous Long John Silver, Kevin Bishop as Jim Hawkins, and a host of Muppets playing various characters.

The film follows Jim Hawkins, a young orphan who is given a treasure map by the dying Billy Bones, a former pirate. Jim and his friends, including the porcine Captain Smollett (Kermit the Frog) and the marooned pirate Benjamina Gunn (Miss Piggy), set sail to find the treasure on a ship called the Hispaniola. However, they soon discover that Long John Silver and his crew are also on board, and have plans of their own for the treasure.

As the voyage continues, Jim begins to suspect that Long John Silver is not to be trusted, but no one else on board believes him. The Muppets go through various comedic adventures on the high seas, including a battle with a giant octopus and a mutiny led by the ship's cook, who turns out to be a singing lobster.

In the end, Jim and his friends successfully navigate through the obstacles to reach the island where the treasure is hidden. But they are confronted by Long John Silver, who takes Jim hostage and demands that the treasure be handed over to him. However, the Muppets come to the rescue and defeat Long John and his crew, and the treasure is ultimately used to help rebuild the damaged town of Bristol.

Muppet Treasure Island features a mix of live-action actors and Muppet characters, and includes a number of catchy musical numbers, including "Shiver My Timbers" and "Professional Pirate". The film was generally well-received by critics and has since become a beloved classic among Muppet fans.
