Mulholland Falls is a neo-noir crime thriller film released in 1996, directed by Lee Tamahori and written by Pete Dexter. The film stars Nick Nolte, Chazz Palminteri, Michael Madsen, and Chris Penn, along with Jennifer Connelly and Melanie Griffith in supporting roles.

As the investigation progresses, the "Hat Squad" discovers that the victim was having an affair with General Timms (John Malkovich), who is in charge of nuclear weapons testing in Nevada. The squad begins to unravel the case, revealing a web of corruption and deceit involving high-ranking military officials and politicians.
As the team gets closer to the truth, they become the targets of violent retaliation, and it becomes clear that those involved will do anything to protect their secrets.
