Mr. Wonderful is a romantic comedy movie released in 1993. The movie stars Matt Dillon as Gus, an electrician who is divorced and has to pay alimony to his ex-wife. Gus falls in love with a woman named Leonora, played by Annabella Sciorra, who works in a pet store. But Gus is hesitant to pursue a relationship with her because he cannot afford to pay his alimony and start a new life with her.
Gus's friends come up with a plan to help him raise money to buy an old bowling-alley, which they plan to renovate and turn into a hip comedy club. They hope this investment will free Gus from the shackles of paying alimony and allow him to pursue a new life with Leonora.
However, things do not go as planned, and the group struggles to come up with the money and manage the business. Gus also has to confront his own fears and doubts about starting a new life with a woman he loves.
The movie is a heartwarming and humorous portrayal of love, friendship, and following your dreams. It was directed by Anthony Minghella and features an ensemble cast that includes William Hurt, Mary-Louise Parker, and Vincent D'Onofrio.
