Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium is a 2007 fantasy comedy film directed by Zach Helm. The movie stars Dustin Hoffman as Mr. Edward Magorium, Natalie Portman as Molly Mahoney, and Jason Bateman as Henry. The story follows Molly Mahoney, the shy and insecure manager of Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium, a magical toy store that defies the laws of physics and operates on its own with sentient toys.
When Mr. Magorium, the 243-year-old eccentric owner, decides to pass on the store to Molly, she finds herself at a loss on how to run such an extraordinary establishment. Soon after the passing of Mr. Magorium, the store itself begins to change, in a way that makes it more ordinary and dark.
Molly initially tries to run the store as Mr. Magorium did, but she soon realizes that something is amiss when the store starts to malfunction, and the toys become unhappy and uncooperative. A serious accountant named Henry comes in to help her, but he soon discovers that the store's magic has disappeared, and he wants to sell it to a wealthy, unscrupulous owner.
Together, Molly and Henry search for the way to bring the magic back to the store. Along the way, they realize that the store's magic was not the product of a piece of paper or a mathematical formula, but rather the love and belief that the children who visit the store have for it.
In the end, Molly and Henry find the key to restore the store's magic through a little girl named Eric Applebaum, who is the only person that can make the store magical once more. Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium comes back to life thanks to the power of love and the imagination of the children who believe in it.
